Underwire Film Festival | Call for Submissions

We are so excited to announce the launch of Underwire Film festival. UnderWire will take place in locations around Shoreditch and Hoxton, from Thursday 18th – Sunday 21st November. A festival that aims to focus on the raw cinematic talents of women with four days of screenings and events.

The best bit of all is that Underwire is open for submissions and accepts short films under 20mins in length on DVD. Closing date for submissions is Monday 20 of September.

On the first three nights of the festival, the shortlist of films from the six categories will be screened:

>Thursday 18th will present the Representation and Screenwriting shortlist
>Friday 19th will present the Directing and Cinematography shortlist
>Saturday 20th will present the Editing and Producing shortlist.

Events preceding the screenings will be hosted in partnership with Object, WFTV and Birds’ Eye View on each of the evenings, and will address the areas that are of key interest to UnderWire:

>Thursday 18th will include a talk about the representations of women on film by UK Feminista Founder, and author of The Equality Illusion, Kat Banyard.  This evening’s events will be hosted with Object, and with support from Storm in a Teacup and Ladyfest Ten.
