Hello,
My name’s Marie, I’m not long moved to London from Glasgow, to start a new campaigning job. In days gone by in Glasgow I did lots of feministy artsy stuff (starting with Frock On fests http://www.thefword.org.uk/features/2003/09/get_your_frock_on_an_insight_into_organising_a_womens_community_event) and DIY films (http://www.burnoutfilms.com/), putting on shows, and some zine things and stuff, and I’d really like to meet some women and people in London into the same kinds of things, and maybe get involved/help out with organising and things. Let me know if there’s anything I can do?
all the best,
Marie

hi folks,
writing on behalf of some of the people
organising a Queer and Feminist Day that will be happening at 195
Mare Street a squatted social centre in
Hackney:http://socialcentre.org.uk/. Both wanted to ask, if you
folk could help to publcise our freeschool week (in particular
the queer and feminist day which we are organising (It will be
happening on Friday 22nd of November) but also whether you would
be interested in putting on a talk or workshop, having an info
stall, or just generally if you wanted to give us any
information/leaflets/ other things about your group that we could
put around the space. We are having an organising meeting this
saturday (16th November) at 2pm, to which you are very much
invited! We’d also really appreciate it if you could pass on to
any other queer/feminist groups that might want to put on an
event or talk or anything really. We are completely supportive of
the concept of womens only meetings or activities, and can make
space for these to occur, but as part of the Queer politic of the
space and the event, we ask that all women only spaces are open
to trans/self identifying women.
